On the day of the ultimate sport of the season, Citrus head soccer coach Josh Ross was informed Friday he had been relieved of his duties as the results of an investigation by the Citrus County College District.
Citrus County College District spokeswoman Lindsay Blair mentioned, “Mr. Ross has been relieved of his teaching duties at Citrus Excessive College. Mr. Ross stays an educational workers member of the Citrus County College District.”
Ross, in his first yr at Citrus, had been reassigned on Oct. 10 and missed the ultimate 4 weeks of the season whereas the investigation was ongoing.

“Whereas I disagree with the choice made, I do assist that Citrus Excessive College must be given the prospect to be the most effective it might presumably be,” Ross, who couldn’t communicate on the small print of the investigation, mentioned Friday afternoon.
“I wish to thank Citrus Excessive College and town of Inverness for the chance to be the top soccer coach. I am a greater coach for this. I really like my gamers,” he added. “The Inverness neighborhood was supportive and superb from day one.”
Ross was employed in February to interchange McKinley Franklin, who stepped down in November after three years on the job. Franklin has been the interim head coach because the investigation started. The Hurricanes have been 1-8 getting into Friday’s season finale at Williston.
Ross was an assistant coach within the 2022 season at Pasco Excessive College in Dade Metropolis and is a 2009 graduate of Hernando Excessive College.
He mentioned he’ll proceed to teach soccer.
