PK: Nope.
GWK: Do you want what you see once you watch live-streaming LIV?
PK: Nope.
GWK: Is it an excessive amount of speaking? Too many graphics? Not sufficient evaluation?
PK: What number of announcers do you have to describe one shot? CBS has three on the bottom, they obtained a man within the tower, they obtained one other analyst within the 18th tower, they obtained Jim Nantz. And so at a minimal there’s three announcers on each shot they usually’re all attempting to get in as a result of they need their air-time and it ruins the circulation of the present, for my part. I’m not going to say names, however they only don’t want that many announcers, for my part. And plus with the variety of commercials and sponsored segments and whatnot, it’s too cluttered. The entire thing is simply too cluttered.
GWK: What do you consider the variety of industrial breaks?
PK: That’s the Tour’s fault. That’s not the community’s fault. The Tour prices x quantity for the rights charges they usually bump em up, bump em up, bump em up. The networks need golf. How they gonna justify spending what they’re spending. They gotta pay for it. They’ve obtained a board to answer, they obtained shareholders, they obtained every little thing. They gotta get the cash again one way or the other so that you get it by means of commercials.
GWK: What about issues like, ‘the ultimate hour is commercial-free delivered to you by, say, Rolex?’
PK: Most individuals have turned it off by then. They’re sick of the commercials. The entire thing is simply too cluttered. It’s propaganda. The Tour has managed to do away with some voices that have been trustworthy, shall I say, and changed them with cheerleaders, former Tour gamers and whatnot. However the Tour will get what the Tour needs.
I’m glad I had my run after I had it. Gary and I labored in what I take into account to be the Golden Age of golf on tv. We had enjoyable, it was entertaining, informative. It wasn’t laden down with a bunch of commercials, a bunch of promos, sponsored segments.
