Howard Thomas Hudson, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2025, in Sneads, Florida, at the age of 58. Born on March 28, 1966, in Donalsonville, Georgia, Howard was a man whose life was characterized by hard work, dedication to his family, and a love for the great outdoors.
Preceded in death by his parents, Tom Hudson, Jr. and Shirley Howard Hudson, Howard’s legacy of love and strength lives on through his beloved wife, Sheila J. Hudson; his daughter, Cassy Walker and her husband Austin; his step-son, Travis Stevens; his adored grandchildren, Easton and Blair Walker; his sisters, Olga Rabon and Jeanette McDaniel; his mother-in-law, Marie O. Cumbie and numerous nieces and nephews who will miss his guidance and humor. Howard’s three canine companions, Daisy Mae, Buddy Wayne, and JoJo, also mourn the loss of their caring owner.
Howard’s early life in Sneads set the stage for a man who would become the epitome of resilience and selflessness. He attended Sneads High School and, demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility from a young age, left school early to begin working and contribute to his family’s well-being. This early sacrifice marked the beginning of a long and honorable career. Howard retired in 2022 from Charlie Johnson’s Home Lifters company, where he was not only a dedicated employee but also a friend to many, known for his reliability and good nature.
Beyond his professional life, Howard was an avid outdoorsman. He found solace and joy in hunting, fishing, and embracing the beauty of nature. His enthusiasm for outdoor activities knew no bounds, and he could often be found mud bogging, an activity that brought him immense joy and excitement. Howard’s love for the outdoors was infectious, and he was always eager to share this passion with his family and friends.
Howard’s life was a testament to the values he held dear: family, hard work, and the simple pleasures of life. His presence was a source of stability and joy for those who knew him. His laughter was contagious, his stories captivating, and his advice invaluable.
