Lester Wiertz, age 82, of Greenwood, FL passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at his residence.
Lester was born on October 30, 1941 in Paterson, NJ to the late Lena and Harry Wiertz. Lester enlisted in the United States Navy at the age of 17 in 1958 as a Submarine Detection Specialist. In 1958, Lester married Mary and was together for 43 years before she passed. Later, Lester met Suzanne and married in 2015. Lester enjoyed camping, fishing, and flying RC planes.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Mary.
Lester is survived by his loving wife of nine years, Suzanne Marie Wiertz.
Memorialization will be by cremation with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
