Mrs. Mary Sheffield, 76, of Esto Community, Bonifay, Florida, entered her Heavenly home on Monday, April 7, 2025, following an extended illness.
Mrs. Mary was born October 22, 1948, in Graceville, Florida, to the late Walter Hosie Sanders and Arnie Valeta Williams Sanders. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, she was a 1966 graduate of Poplar Springs High School, Mrs. Mary had worked with Eustis Fruit Packing and Golden Gem Fruit for a number of years, then finishing her working career with Walmart where she retired. Upon retirement she and Mr. Jim returned home building their home near Esto. She enjoyed being with her family, fishing and mowing the lawn. She was an active member of Mt. Zion Independent Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband James “Jim” Sheffield on January 19, 2024, son-in-law Mark Crabtree.
She is survived by four children Jeffrey Sanders (Diane), Jamie Sheffield (Naomi), Lisa Crabtree, Jesse Sheffield, nine grandchildren Justin Sanders, Jadyn Jones (Ethan), Ashley Gushlaw, Amber Beeler (Dean), J.D. Sheffield, Jason Sheffield, Mallory Sheffield, Krista Shimmel (Robert), Bradley Crabtree, ten great grandchildren Raileigh Sanders, Kimber Sanders and others, brother Robert Sanders (Mary), two sisters Ruth White, Nellie Henley, sister-in-law, Frances Adams (Ralph), several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Home-going Celebration will be held 11 a.m., Friday, April 11, 2025, at Mt. Zion Independent Baptist Church with Bro. Steve Buroughs officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville directing.
Family will receive friends at the church, 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
